The DisTrActions were a Sydney band playing from around 1986 to 1989, mostly at the Evening Star Hotel in Surry Hills and the Harbourside Brasserie at Miller's Point. We also played at Bondi Pavilion in April 1988 at a concert and corroboree called "Koomparto" ("Fresh Start") with Dragon, Gondwanaland, Black Lace, Roger Knox and Band, Ruby Hunter and others. We played soul and R&B covers and original songs, about 50/50.

MIDI arrived and these versions were recorded in 1989 in the lounge room at Baltic Street, Newtown, with Terri on vocals and Damian playing all the parts on his new Ensoniq SQ80, using the first version of Steinberg Cubase software, a drum machine, rhythm guitar, backing vocals and a TASCAM 4 track recorder. In 1989 "Man to LOve", "Lay Down Your Arms" and "Hot Body" were recorded by Roger Hanlon in a studio in a beautiful little church in a backyard at Thornleigh. Damian played all the parts, mostly on keyboards, and sang backing vocals, with Terri on lead vocals.

"Sugar Train", "Extra Lover", "Racing Car" and "Boy Rider" were also recorded in the lounge room at Baltic Street, Newtown, in 1989.

Terri's voice is strong, honest and genuine and she's a great performer. Damian's production and playing is first class. So it's fantastic to have these recordings transferred from tape to digital and be able to listen to them again. The transfers were done by Glenn "Magoo" Aird and three tracks ("Lay Down Your Arms", "Man to Love" and "Extra Lover" have been mastered by William Bowden of King Willy Sound, Tasmania. Michael Priddis also did some audio engineering on his steamin' and smokin' "Sugar Train". Enjoy!
